Army Golf Club (AGC ) is a short but very attractive course for Golfers in Bangladesh. It is being run under the supervision of Club President, at present the Adjutant General of the Bangladesh Army. The Club is proud of one of the spectacular and well maintained courses in the country. The course is strategically challenging and playable round the year. Despite its central location, AGC has a country side feel to it.Initially, though the course was partly barren but subsequently all the holes were newly constructed.
Presently, the course is well maintained to international tournament standard. Main features of the course layout are the strategic arrangement of water hazards and bunkers including few ponds that add beauty to it. Fairways are separated by lines of coconut, betel nut, jack fruit,mango, litchi and palm trees in the course to preserve its environment, lush green and serenity. A small forest like orchard is located at the northern side on fairway three while the second and fifth fairways are shaped like dog-leg.The lake located at the north provides additional security to the course. The practice facilities include a driving range, putting green, and dedicated chipping areas.
Army Golf Club started its journey on 26 May 2001. It possesses a challenging 2945 yards, 36 par covering about 55 acres of land. It is located inside Dhaka Cantonment surrounded by Hotel Radisson on the south, Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport on the north and Nikunja on the east. The minimum travel time from the Dhaka's best hotels, international airport and easy access from the main highway to city centre makes AGC a good choice for golfers from home and abroad. Army Golf Club has successfully completed the construction works of Club House Complex brushing aside all odds and financial constraints. The complex contains Club House and Banquet Hall.
The Club House is a fair faced 2 storey building on 4-storey foundation having floor area of 33,786 sft. The ground floor contains Lounge, Cafe, Indoor game, Pro shop, Modern kitchen, Prayer hall, Porch, Reception lobby, Locker (Gents/Ladies) and Gym (Gents/Ladies). The1st floor contains 25 ft wide deck, Restaurant (Palm View), Conference room and Three VIP suits. A beautiful mosque is also here. Construction of a swimming pool will be taken up soon. The Banquet Hall ( Golf Garden) is a single storey fair faced building 36 ft height, and can accommodate700 persons at a time. This hall is available to the members at subsidy and to the general people at normal rate. It is supported by a modern kitchen and served by a set of highly skilled and professional catering staffs. It is most convenient to organize a party due to its location as it is outside the Cantonment. One can organize conference, banquet, marriage ceremony, and many others. The complex has a parking capacity of 500 vehicles.
The club is affiliated with all other golf clubs of the country.
